If I think of a single Telugu director whose successful career spanned more than 20 continuous years with some of the best Telugu melodious songs to his credit, V Madhusudana Rao's name comes to my mind in the first place. Veeramachaneni Madhusaudana Rao hails from Eedpugallu, Krishna Dt. As many of his movies are super hits, he is fondly called as "Victory" Madhusudana Rao. He is again a unique Telugu movie director in the sense that he not only touched many movie genres such as action, social, mythological, devotional, revolutionary, and message-oriented movies, but also he worked with a wide range of music directors.

He was a default director to all "Jagapathi Art" movies until his cousin, VB Rajendra Prasad himself had to direct dasarA bullODu movie on that banner (that too because of V Madhusudana Rao's unavailability for this film). He is also credited as a director that directed a maximum number of ANR movies. Most importantly, he is best remembered as a God Father to Sobhan Babu for giving him life in three critical phases of his career (pre-veerAbhimanyu, pre-manushulu mArAli and pre-mallepuvvu periods). Due to his close association, ANR prefered Victory Madhusaudana Rao to direct Nagarjuna's debut movie, Vikaram in 1985. He was awarded the prestigious "Raghupathi Venkaiah Naidu" award by the State Government for his outstanding contribution to the Telugu cinema in 1997.
